WITHOUT wishing to stir up any controversy I would like to comment on Catchwater Crossroads in Messingham, where, quite rightly, a 40mph speed limit has been imposed.
But why was it thought necessary to extend the distance covered by the speed limit so far beyond the hazard ? Surely it would have been better to "stagger" the limit, keeping the approach (in both directions) the same but lifting the restriction as soon as the hazard is passed.See the full content of this document
