All types of commercial vehicles appear to have grown-up remarkably in recent years. Rather than being basic modes of load carrying, there are now fewer models established on car platforms, although their car-like interiors and equipment levels might suggest something to the contrary.

The Renault Kangoo, which is sold in two variants, Compact and Van, is actually the best-selling small commercial vehicle in Europe and sells very strongly in the UK too. Much of its appeal to firms small and large lies in its commanding driving position, which places the driver at a level halfway between a normal family car and an SUV. Allied to moderately large mirrors and a deep windscreen, the view from the "bridge" is exceptional, bearing in mind that a solid bulkhead is positioned behind the driver and front passenger to stop loads from encroaching on the cabin.
