Division one leaders Messingham 3rds cemented their advantage with a terrific seven-wicket victory at Cleethorpes 5ths who set them a tough target of 183 for six with 57 from Rich Griffin and 56 from captain Martin Twyman.

But the table-toppers picked up three valuable points thanks to Tom Johnson, who hit 48, and two unbeaten knocks from Andy Langford (45) and Chris Barnett (32), whilst last season's champions Caistor Cougars were beaten by just one wicket at Marshalls, who bowled them for 99 then lost nine wickets in reaching three figures.
