Are You a Tenant?

NORTH Lincolnshire Council is carrying out a survey among tenants and owners of private properties in the region. The survey covers a wide range of issues, including training for landlords, energy efficiency, repairs and maintenance.

Get Share of Pounds 2.4m

COMMUNITY groups in North Lincolnshire could claim shares in a Pounds 2.4-million grant to help deliver heritage, tourism and culture projects over the next four years. The cash comes a from a new initiative called Leader which is spear-headed by the Rural Action Group in conjunction with North Lincolnshire Council.

Register for Courses

PEOPLE in North Lincolnshire still have time to register for adult education courses that start this month. There are two centres in Scunthorpe and two in Brigg and Barton- Upon-Humber.

Help Us Rid Our Town of the Ugly Face of Graffiti ; Police On Trail of Taggers After Appeal

POLICE are closing the net the on vandals who have defaced public property with sloppy graffiti depicting a giant face. An appeal was published in the Scunthorpe Telegraph on August 24, asking for anyone with information about the graffiti to come forward.

A CHARITY will be making its mark at The Foundry Shopping Centre in Scunthorpe on Friday in preparation for its annual fundraising campaign. Scunthorpe's branch of Macmillan Cancer Support will be joining forces with The Foundry Shopping Centre to raise awareness of this year's Light Up A Life service, which takes place at the shopping centre on Thursday November 12.

Retiring Nurse has Loved Every Minute

A FORMER Scunthorpe General Hospital ward nurse is to retire after 40 years serving the NHS. Dorothy Hulme started her career in 1967 in Stockport and spent time at Birmingham and Nottingham before moving to Scunthorpe in 1979.

'A Special Concert for Some Special People'

A CHARITY concert and picnic will be held in a North Lincolnshire park this weekend. Saxby Hall in Saxby All Saints is to host the evening of entertainment on Saturday, September 5. The fun begins at 5pm when the grounds open for picnickers and the concert begins at 7pm and is expected to last until 9.30pm. Humberside Police Band will be providing the music and a range of tunes will be played.

Di's Sister to Lead Tribute to Fallen Soldier ; High Sheriff of Lincolnshire to Join Mourners at Funeral

PRINCESS Diana's sister will head the military funeral for Afghanistan war hero Anthony Lombardi in Scunthorpe tomorrow. In her role as High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, 54, will join mourners at the town's Woodlands Crematorium for a service and interment.
